Meet Lauren

Lauren Crawford is a dancer, choreographer and dance educator, born and raised in Australia, but located in Northern Virginia. Her friendly and easygoing nature is easily seen in her teaching style where she puts an emphasis on concepts and connection, rather than a stern focus on perfection. she is trained in a variety of social dance styles and works with individuals of all ages and skill levels to build confidence and playfulness.

 

As founder of RedSand Dance, a social company that champions community, expression, and compassion, Lauren boasts 20 years of choreography and teaching experience, particularly focusing on Latin styles for the past 12 years.

 

Besides organizing her own events, she also teaches at various venues throughout D.C and Virginia. Lauren passionately shares her love for dance through private lessons, group classes, workshops, festivals, and private events, believing that health, happiness, and resilience are found on the dance floor.
